家、ついて行ってイイですか
イスタ休みに『家、ついて行ってイイですか』を見ました。
家、ついて行ってイイですか is a TV variety show in Japan. The cameraman asks if he could follow random people in shibuya at night to their home and film; In return, he pays the taxi fee for the person. Each episode is around 15 mins long, and I watched five of them.
One of the most memorable one is about a girl who is half Japanese and half Italian. The camera man followed her home, and learned about the girl's story. She was born in a small village, and has been bothered by her appearances for a long time since nobody looks like her in that area. Her half sister gave her a lot of encouragement, and suggested that she leave the village and go to Tokyo, where diversity is understood and accepted.
There was also a mom who graduated from Tokyo University with six kids. Even though raising six kids is hard, the mom remains optimistic and respects each of her child. When two of her kids appear to be "transgender", which means that they regard themselves as boys even though they were biologically born as girls, mother respects their choices and calls them “君”
The episode reflects the real life of normal people. It is touching to see even though life could be hard but so many people are still trying to do their best.
There are also people whose life choices I do not understand (e.g. a girl does nothing but plays video game), but it is always nice to see the varieties.
